DonadonSDD KRD rupture discs obtained with Nanoscored Technology is a compression-loaded disc or reverse-acting disc, scored around the circumference. This disc has been designed to meet the high quality standards required by 3-A SSI, whose aim is to ensure public health through hygiene equipment.
The KRD model is particularly suitable for the Pharmaceutical, Food, and Biotechnology industries and represents the state-of-the-art for these sectors. This disc is entirely made of AISI 316L stainless steel (or other alloys upon request of the client). It’s smooth surface makes it particularly suitable for C.I.P. and S.I.P. treatments to maintain aseptic conditions. PTFE gaskets, which are certified in compliance with FDA and USP class VI, 3-A, and Eu 10/2011 regulations, facilitate the installation in Clamp fittings (sanitary, Tri-Clamp, Tank Connection).
The operating pressure modifies the camber of the convex disc only when reverse pressure is reached. Upon reversal, the disc opens completely in a few milliseconds along the score line, thus preventing fragmentation from forming.
The KRD disc, with its innovative design, can be used with liquids only and can resist both vacuum and high pressure.
